Missions

The “Good Works” mission team here at Bethel United Methodist Church reaches out to the local community and abroad to help those in need and bring people to Christ.  Our outreach programs include:

Spring City Food Pantry: Bethel donates to the food pantry and helps out Thursday mornings.
Hope on the Hill: Dinners are offered every Wednesday and Bethel provides the dinners periodically.
Ian’s  Boots: Bethel has a barrel for the collection of shoes and volunteers on Mondays and Tuesdays 5:30 -8:00
Good Works: A Christian non-profit organization which repairs homes for low income families.
Bethel to Bethel (Bethel UMC working with Bethel Kenya): A preschool and kitchen have been built with Bethel donations. Along with electricity, water, bibles, clothing and supplies (overseen by John Kessler who travels to Kenya) .

Bethel’s Green Committee: This group is involved in recycling and encouraging the congregation’s use of the greenest alternatives

New missions for 2020 will be Operation Back Pack and Matthew 25 Pill Bottle recycling. Matthew 25 Ministries recycles used pill bottles and uses them in third world countries to hand out medications. Stay tuned for the kick off of Matthew 25, Operation Back Pack and our new mission center in the narthex.

Coming soon: There will be a table in the narthex with info on all the Bethel Missions!

We meet the fourth Sunday of the month from 9:30-10 am in Cafe here at Bethel. Please reach out to the missions committee, Tina Abel and/or John Kessler, or contact the main office if interested in volunteering or for the schedule of group workdays.
